Are Vans from Vancouver?

Have you ever just done something to release the inner need to avoid doing the right thing all the time? I suffer from this problem quite often, in that moment when I feel I have fulfilled my responsibilities and the daily expectation of being a singer is gone I always feel like doing something that is not exactly on the list of "Do this when you want to be good to yourself!" it is usually on the list of "Things not to do if you have any self respect left!"

I like to break rules sometimes to make sure that rules still exist and just to check and see if anyone is actually watching to see if people keep these unwritten rules. I have in life a few principles which I won't mention here as it would be like preaching, they are my principles, which I keep close to my heart and try my hardest to uphold but after these guardians of self preservation are the grey areas of definition. For example it is ok to drink alcohol but it is not ok to drink to much alcohol, define too much. Cigarettes, are a disgusting, damaging drug you can buy on every street corner so they can't be all that bad can they?

It is important to know every law because saying "you didn't know something was illegal" is not a form of defence so we should all study law, shouldn't we?! Grey areas that lead to the "dance of the devil" being on the right side although you wander into the dark side with or without intention! I feel this album has lasted a life time and the discipline of studio and focus is starting to culminate to itchy feet, I want to play live and get back to being on the road and at the same time I could imagine disappearing into the jungles of the Amazon to see if there are any tribes that the rest of the world hasn't infiltrated and play them the new album to get an honest opinion!

Only joking but the sense of parallel journeys is beginning as it always does nearing the end of an album! Now with an upcoming release the record company and all our media partners start making their requests for station ids and interviews and concerts and before you know it the next twelve months are planned and you are already talking about the next album. I think after this album it will be important to let the music breath, regenerate so that it doesn't collapse under the constant expectation. I think this album will be a step into a new era for Reamonn after such a period of writing and recording and the planned release in new countries such as America I think we will reach a platform we have always been aiming for and need time to take in the sights when we're there. I'm in studio in Vancouver I haven't had the headspace to check out the city yet and to be honest I don't like being a tourist so I will probably wait until I return here when we are playing to see the sights, at the moment I am very excited about the music we are recording and can't take my foot of the gas to see landscape and buildings but I heard they're not going anywhere soon! I wouldn't mind though getting some new shoes, I wonder if they have Vans in Vancouver!
